How DDG creates flexible added value with the help of Foodji
Specialist in intelligent data management
The DDG—German Service Center for Healthcare—is shaping the future of the healthcare sector through individual invoice verification and intelligent data management.
With over 30 years of experience and a team of more than 600 qualified employees, DDG focuses on comprehensive solutions that enable health insurance companies, cities, and municipalities to concentrate on their core business. By using state-of-the-art technologies and customized services, DDG aims to maximize efficiency and security in data processing, thereby creating sustainable added value for its customers.
As an employer, DDG also contributes daily to providing optimal working conditions and attaches great importance to the satisfaction of its more than 600 employees.
Our biggest challenge was to provide a diverse range of food at a reasonable price without high administrative costs, which would be available at any time of the day. While some employees start as early as 5 a.m. and others don't start until 8 or 9 a.m., the machine operators work in shifts. In addition, many colleagues work from home and are often only in the office once a week. These different working hours and attendance models require a flexible catering concept that suits everyone."

Varied breaks and fresh food for every work model
As part of its commitment to creating a respectful workplace, DDG management actively contributes to providing fresh meals for its employees. Various solutions (such as an in-house bistro, snack and sandwich vending machines, and a delivery service) were tested, but proved to be inefficient in the long term or not equally accessible to all employees. As a result, the workforce has recently taken matters into its own hands
DDG's goals:
- Providing all employees with high-quality catering—despite different working (time) models and a high proportion of home office workers.
- Creating tangible added value every day through subsidies
- Offering wholesome, fresh, and healthy meals
The lack of internal catering had the following disadvantages: employees had to bring their own food, there was no solution for all working (time) models, and there was a lack of variety and healthy alternatives.

Flexible catering solution – regardless of the working model
The introduction of Foodji has sustainably improved everyday working life and the break culture:
- Approximately 250 employees regularly use Foodji at the site.
- The break time previously spent walking to the snack bar or supermarket can now be used for relaxation.
- The DDG subsidizes all employees, thereby creating added value that can be felt on a daily basis.
With Foodji, the DDG has found a catering solution that fits in with modern working life: individual, flexible, and available at any time.
New break culture
Foodji offers high-quality meals around the clock for all employees, whether in the office or in production. The range is individually planned by AI: rotating from a total of 300 changing fresh dishes.
Space-saving solution without investment in infrastructure and personnel: only 1 square meter and one regular power connection per Foodji.
The daily assortment at Foodji is as follows:
- 9 different main courses
- 10 breakfast and snack dishes
- 10 snacks
- 10 Drinks
The Foodji is refilled twice a week.
For DDG, Foodji is not only an innovative concept, but also a further contribution to greater satisfaction, efficiency, and appreciation in everyday office life.
"As a company, we are convinced that our Foodji, with its selection of drinks and snacks, has a positive influence on the working atmosphere. It offers our employees the opportunity to quickly and easily refuel without having to leave the workplace. At the same time, the Foodji creates a meeting place for informal conversations, thereby strengthening team spirit.
It is important to us to promote the well-being of our employees, and we see Foodji as another building block in creating a pleasant and productive working environment."
