Herbert Widmann GmbH, whose tradition dates back to 1912 with its first stall in Munich's wholesale market hall, strives as a reliable supplier to provide customers with high-quality, fresh berries and to build long-term partnerships through controlled supply chains and sustainable cultivation methods.

As the market leader for berries and wild mushrooms, Widmann now imports fresh produce from all over the world and is also growing more and more itself. Fruit comes from the company's own regional cultivation areas during the season and from its own production in Austria, Romania, Spain, South Africa, Namibia and Chile during the year.

The employees at Herbert Widmann GmbH had previously been self-sufficient. Pre-cooking in their free time was often the only alternative, as even the nearest supermarket was not open, especially for the shift. In the end, this type of catering was neither varied nor healthy.

The lack of internal catering had the following disadvantages: self-sufficiency or long distances to the nearest supermarket, no solution for shift workers and a lack of variety.

The challenges were:

  • Provide all employees with high-quality food every day and, above all, 24/7 to maximize break and recovery time

Foodji offers high-quality meals around the clock for all employees, whether in the office or in production. The range is individually planned by AI: rotating from a total of 300 changing fresh dishes.

The wishes of the administrative staff are fulfilled: More light dishes such as salads & bowls are offered. The wishes of the production staff are fulfilled: Hearty, wholesome offerings with traditional meat dishes.

Space-saving solution without investment in infrastructure and personnel: only 1 square meter and one regular power connection per Foodji.

The daily assortment at Foodji is as follows:

  • 10 Drinks

It is refilled three times a week.
